Our Chinese language learning system uses an architecture of 10 levels which have been closely matched to HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or the Chinese Proficiency Test) and CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Check the table below to see which level you have, or take one Free trial class and we will help you determine your current level with accuracy.

Has mastered the whole pronunciation system and the most basic Chinese characters; possesses the ability to take further studies.

   
T2 Beginner 2

Has mastered about 150 Chinese vocabulary.

Can understand and use very simple Chinese words and phrases; meets basic needs for communication.

T3 Elementary

Has mastered about 300 Chinese vocabulary.

Has an excellent grasp of basic Chinese and can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

HSK 2 A2
T4 Upper Elementary

Has mastered about 600 Chinese vocabulary.

Can communicate in Chinese at a basic level in daily academic and professional life. Can manage most communication in Chinese when travelling in China.

HSK 3 B1
T5 Lower Intermediate

Has mastered about 900 Chinese vocabulary.

Can speak and understand Mandarin reasonably well. Can advance vocabulary and conversational ability with practice in new and different scenarios. Can understand some commonly used Chinese slangs and idioms as well as some aspects of Chinese culture.

T6 Intermediate

Has mastered about 1200 Chinese vocabulary.

Can converse in Chinese on a wide range of non-technical topics and interact with a certain level of fluency and clarity.
Meets the basic needs of applying for jobs or colleges in China.

T7 Upper Intermediate

Has mastered about 1800 Chinese vocabulary.

Can understand structured and coherent texts and communicate with native speakers, producing well-structured sentences on complex subjects.

Knows more about Chinese culture, history, and customs.

T8 Lower Advanced

Has mastered about 2500 Chinese vocabulary.

Can express views to communicate with native Chinese speakers in a wider and deeper way.
Can read Chinese newspapers and magazines, Enjoys Chinese films and plays, and can give a full-length speech in Chinese.

T9 Advanced

Has mastered about 3800 Chinese vocabulary.

Can understand without much difficulty what is discussed in an academic or professional environment, as well as being able to express one’s own views confidently.

Can enjoy modern Chinese literature and poetry.

HSK 6 C2
T10 Upper Advanced

Has mastered about 5000 Chinese vocabulary.

Can easily comprehend written and spoken information in Chinese and can effectively express oneself formally in Chinese, both orally and on paper.
Can easily talk about various topics deeply such as environmental issues, literature, academic essays, and other deep topics.

T11 Mastery

Has mastered more than 5000 Chinese vocabulary.

Can make formal speeches, read and write articles, express oneself excellently in both daily and business occasions. Can comprehend and even create buzzwords in Chinese. There are almost no obstructions in any type of communication.
